In the morning, start by splashing your face with warm water or use a gentle cleanser first of all to wash your face. It will help remove all the impurities from the surface of your skin.

Application: Squeeze a small amount of your facial cleanser of choice into your hands and add water to transform it from clay to mousse. Gently massage your facial cleanser onto your face, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

If you are using oil-based products at night, use an oil cleanser in the morning to effectively live away from those products and whatever they have brought to the skin’s surface overnight.

Suggestion: Try to use a low-foaming cleanser because the bigger the bubble, the more drying it is on the skin. If you have sensitive skin, use a creamy or milky formulation for your skin.

Toner

I have seen many people skipping toner, they think that most toners are harsh and irritate the skin. But this is not the care anymore.

Toner works as the first barrier product. A good quality toner balances your skin’s PH value and is intended to hydrate.

Present-day, there are a variety of toners available in the market that serve multiple purposes like work as a delivery system for antioxidants, vitamin B derivatives and even toning acids. Besides, each type of toner is made for different skin issues. That is why it is important to use the right kind as per your skin type and concern.

Application: Put the cotton pads down, anything you put between your fingers and your face, it may irritate the skin, so it is better to keep pressing it while applying. Tap a few drops of toner around your face and press it into even application.

With so many uses and benefits, it is important to look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and apply it daily. You will be surprised to hear this but applying nothing but sunscreen on a regular basis can improve the cosmetic appearance of the skin. Moreover, protecting your skin from UV damage is likely to allow the skin to function optimally and heal itself from previous damage.

Mistakes #1: Using Hot Water- Using hot water to cleanse face and taking a bath is one of the biggest mistakes in skincare routine but we all make this. Never use hot water to cleanse your face. It will strip your face off its natural oil and in turn, make your skin oily.

Always rinse your face with lukewarm, cleanse it and then finish it off using some cold water. Lukewarm water is great in opening your pores and allows better cleaning of the face. And cold water will help close your pores and thus protect your skin from dirt and impurities.

Mistake #2: Wrong Products– We need different types of skincare and makeup products to get ready. But sometimes we purchase cheap quality and wrong products that cause a lot of damage to our skin.

Always choose the products that are suitable for your skin type. There are plenty of products available in the market for every skin type. First, understand your skin type and then choose your products accordingly.

Mistake #3: Face with full Makeup- The most important step that people usually neglect is to be their face at night and remove all the makeup. After returning from any part of the regular office day, we feel tired. Due to that tiredness, we go to bed without removing our makeup.

Mistake #4: Exfoliation in Morning- Exfoliation is very important for your skin. But I have seen many ladies doing exfoliation in ten markets. You must avoid exfoliating in the morning as it opens the pores and it becomes easy for dust or dirt to penetrate the skin, leading to clogged pores.

Do exfoliation in the evening or at night when you are at your home.

Mistake #5: Face Wash Before Shampoo- This is one of the common mistakes that we never realize but it damages our skin badly. But many people wash their face first and shampoo and due to this all the harmful chemicals from the shampoo and dirt, damage our facial skin as the pores are open.

When you wash your hair, you should always do your shampoo first and then face wash.

Mistake #6: Forget Moisturizing the Whole Body- We usually follow our skincare routine and take care of our face only. Don’t just stop moisturizing your face; remember that your whole body needs it to seal in moisture. Initially, we start our day juicy but due to this modern life, we feel dehydrated and end up as wrinkled raisins by the end of the day. Moisturizing the whole body is crucial especially if your skin is dry or sensitive.
